Peace House celebrates being a community providing “a place to belong” for the poor and disenfranchised. Peace House serves a meal five days a week and provides a daily time of meditation. As the late Sister Rose Tillemans wrote, “Peace House, while sharing what little it has for food, rent assistance, job-seeking funds and occasional emergency aid, follows the deeper call of the Gospel to renew and restore human dignity and well-being to the poor who struggle to live in the Phillips neighborhood.” Peace House is a house where food and coffee are shared. Life’s happenings are affirmed and honored through rituals.
